Museum Island (German: Museumsinsel) is an island on the River Spree, located in the city center of Berlin, in the district of Mitte, Germany. In the past, the great Berliner Stadtschloss, demolished in 1950 by the communist government of the German Democratic Republic, was regarded as an unacceptable reminder of imperialism.

The island receives this name because there are five museums:
Pergamon Museum
Altes Museum
Neues Museum
Alte Nationalgalerie
Bode Museum

Also located on the island:
Berliner Dom
Lustgarten
